Base Layer Complete, but Which Way?

 1m x 1m, Back to Abstract.

I had intended the picture to be as above, I'm put off as when I look it it here on a small scale I can see a face in the centre, two eyes a red nose an illuminous pink moustache and a beard with lots of muck -then there's a pyramid with black trees one to each side amid swirls curls and circles.

Perhaps this is better, more of a whirlwind with a low horizon.

Not that it matters - it will look very different when it is dotted.

Happy New Year 2013!!

 Happy Happy Love

I Love this painting because we made it as a family and it feels perfect to wish everyone a Happy New Year!!

As for my own painting:

I realise there isn't much point of thinking and dreaming too much - there is a lot more to be said on the doing and taking action. Then in the doing - to continue and believe in it! Then it's about finding the way to succeed. There are no if's, only alternative routes along the way - Now for me it's about putting the hard work in and finding that route.

Which Way?

Painting for Real.

 Quote by Picasso:
"There is no abstract art.
You must always start with something.
Afterward you can remove all traces of reality."

So I have started...
I've taken inspiration from my old paintings below, painted 10 years ago.
As for dots to go for small or mini - by tooth pick.
I'm not sure .....

Doodle Day..

All about dots.
About taking time on an A4 scrap of paper.

It takes ages and is boring, especially when I have just grabbed the nearest colour. What is the point? There isn't any other than it takes you away from the point of it -

Painting for real on the big white canvas !

50 Shades....

 Starting to Paint: Thinking Abstract

So I found something old -
Something  I didn't like and added more, then scraped some away and added more.
Will I paint like this - No, but there is something there - In the old and that is already there in memory  that is trying to find the light - trapped in fog. Maybe more about a feeling of change in my art finding a new direction and not knowing were it will take me and the anxiety  along the way...... Out of the Grey.
