I just found this photo on the floor in my garage, It's a still life from my GCSE days, I guess I was about 15. I used to love the depth and pattern I could get within a rope. As for smooth surfaces, they are definitely my weakness. While most of my work is dotty to date , back then it was all about cross hatching. I can see quite a bit of yesterday's picture here, It's like I have gone back to where I started.

I have just finished this pen drawing, it seems a little strange to be working in black and white, but I quite like it. I would like to see what it would look like as a screen print. Red on turquoise, purple or blue on peach to suggest a few contrasting combinations. It will be the start of my Itchycoo Lovers series.
It reads:
Sister to sister we will always be talking a language of snarls and smiles, frowns and winks.
