A friend down the Road, Nobelsgate.

Kristine a childhood family friend whose mother went to school with mine, (a few doors down the road) showed me some of her grandfathers art work. I love it! The illustrations are raw, swirly and decorative, but my favorite is this small window which on the side of the staircase. Kristine has also inherited her grandfathers talent with art as she works as a curator.

Painted windows by Albert Jaern

This is within a window which almost covers the wall. Kristine told me that he had done it after the war because the original window had been blown out by a bomb.

The Untuned Bell, Oslo

The Untuned Bell installation was created and directed by artist A K Dolven, working with Kristine Jærn Pilgaard, who curated and managed the project, while Copenhagen-based architect Trude Mardal designed the structure.

Hanging 20m above ground and suspended from a steel wire between two pillars, the bell can be rung from ground level, when visitors step on a pedal in the middle of the square. To watch the video go to the link here

I am very excited to hear about her next project which she is hoping will be in Frogner / Vigeland's Park in relation to Vigeland's sculptures.
