Oslo, ski slopes and ski jump in the summer

Norway, Oslo:
The Oslofjord

This is where we went skiing last February.

Didn't you know that a drag lift can double up as a catwalk!

Some thistles in the overgrown grass

Holmenkollen 2010

Getting ready for the 2011 FIS Nordic World Ski Championships.
The Holmenkollen Ski Jump is the newest in the world, and one of the first designer ski jump. It also constitutes a monument boasting world-class engineering. Many of the people of Oslo- my Mum being one of them are very upset that the ski jump won't be white like the old one that has been taken away. In white it became an icon for the City of Oslo.

At the top of the ski jump directly ahead (just above the green bank you can see at the bottom of the ski jump) I zoomed my camera onto an old troll that has been turned into stone. Had it been in Asia I guess he would make a good Buddha.
